Founded in 1965 by Dr. Russell Dantonio and now proudly owned and operated by his daughters, Dr. Maria Burmaster and Dr. Valerie Hemphill, our practice is built on trust, personalized care, and lasting relationships. MEET OUR DOCTOR
Meet Dr. Maria R. Burmaster
Dr. Maria R. Burmaster earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola University and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from LSU School of Dentistry alongside her sister, Dr. Valerie, in 1993. A lifelong learner, she has advanced training in TMJ diagnosis, Invisalign, and other areas through the Center for Advanced Dental Studies and ongoing continuing education.
She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, New Orleans Dental Association, and the Crescent City Study Club. Dr. Maria also gives back through Donated Dental Services, a national program supporting patients with disabilities.
Outside the office, she enjoys music and serves as an organist and singer at Visitation of Our Lady Parish. She and her husband, Barron, have three sons.

Dr. Valerie R. Hemphill
Dr. Valerie R. Hemphill earned her Bachelor of Science from Southeastern Louisiana University and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from LSU School of Dentistry in 1993, graduating alongside her sister, Dr. Maria. She has completed advanced training in TMJ disorder, occlusion, and Invisalign® through the Dawson Center.
An active member of the American, Louisiana, and New Orleans Dental Associations, Dr. Valerie is also part of the Crescent City Study Club. She gives back through Donated Dental Services, a program supporting patients with special needs and disabilities.
A lifelong West Bank resident, Dr. Valerie lives in Marrero with her husband, Dr. Philip Hemphill. They have five children and are active members of Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church.
